What is it you want from your life?
Have you asked yourself this question lately? Or, have you ever asked yourself this question?
It’s one of the most important questions you can ask yourself.. and you know why? It’s because if you don’t know what you want, how could you possibly be moving your life in the direction that you want it to go? Secondly – If you don’t know what you want then you must be living to the standards of what other people want from you. You are living for others people’s goals and dreams, not your own, you are living to just please other people.
Now it’s great being responsible, looking after your loved ones, and being altruistic. But if you aren’t living on your terms, doing or going in the direction of the things you want from yourself, then you are living for other people, not yourself.
For most people, this is a disastrous road to go down. It ends up in regret, resentment, and frustration in all areas of your life and can effect the relationships you have with others. If you aren’t living on your terms, then you likely aren’t doing what you really want, you aren’t creating great memories, you aren’t being respected and you are living to please other people. One day you’ll wake up with this hollow feeling inside you and realise that you by passed your goals and dreams, because you didn’t have the courage to ask yourself what is it you want, and go whole heartedly toward that very dream, that could be just round the corner and you never even went to have a look.
It does take courage to ask yourself what it is you want, but that’s a good thing! The comfort zone is holding most of the world back, and the secret is – all it takes is break through that comfort zone, over and over again, until it becomes something you just do. Then you will realise all what you wanted really did just reside just round the corner. It only took a few smashes of the comfort zone wall to find it.
Wake up in the morning and ask yourself ‘Who am I?’ ‘What do I stand for?’ ‘What do I value?’ and most importantly – ‘What do I want from my life?’
Visualise every detail. Then start your day with courage and TAKE ACTION.
I would like to invite you to check out Zan Perrion’s work and definitely read ‘The Alabaster Girl’. One of the best books I’ve read in ages.
